Hot Stone Therapy What is a Hot Stone Massage? Hot stone massage is a variation on classic massage therapy. Heated smooth, flat basalt stones are placed on key points on the body. The stones help to relax and warm the muscle tissue. The hot stones melt away tension and PROFOUNDLY SOOTHE SPIRIT. The hot stones are never rough. They are always flat and smooth. The hot stones used on the back are about the size of a large egg, only flat. The stones are heated in a slow cooker unit that provides an adjustable thermostat control. The massage therapist always holds the stones first before touching them to your body, which ensures that the temperature will not be too hot.

*What is deep tissue massage?* Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Deep Tissue massage is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as in massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.
